...obviously you want to know the good stuff about how to make a decent living doing this mysterious activity called "blogging."

Fair enough: Who doesn't want to make a decent living?

Quick question: Do you know much about how blogging got started?

Let's a look at the word...in a funny way...to peel back a bit of the story.

BLOGGING...hmmmm....now...let's do this...(B)LOGGING.

Yes, Captain's Log, Star-date...whatever...

The word comes from keeping a log.

No, not a big piece of wood destined for the fireplace, or the camp-fire.

Blogging is like a diary...or a journal.

It is the place you can write what is...and what isn't...important to YOU.

Yes, the blog is YOUR safe place...where YOU can form ideas and themes that surprise and delight YOU. The blog is all about you...it is YOUR you zone.

SO...

BIG SHOT...

HOW DO I 

MAKE MONEY 

OUT of THIS?

Okay, fair inquiry...well, first of all you have got to be patient.

Yes, that horrible word...PATIENT....

And you have to be you.

In this post on blogging, I am going to put in links to real-deal experts who ARE making a decent living from blogging.

And I am going to include warnings, too.

So...a lot of how-to, and a lot of how-not-to...do your blogging thing.

Also, I am going to encourage you to be you...and experiment with what the bleep that means...to you.

TIP NUMBER ONE:
Write your HEADLINE first.
 

That is tip number one.

TIP NUMBER TWO:
To get people to read your blog...You MUST write magnectic HEADLINES.

Do your HEADLINES suck? 
Your HEADLINES must cause major traffic mayhem.

Not all headlines are created equal. There is the grab-your-eye potential of searing, heart-pounding truth...for example:

"MASSIVE ASTEROID WILL 
DESTROY OUR PLANET IN 24 HOURS"

So, how do you do it?

You want to state part of the problem and part of the solution in your headline.

Another way to look at this idea...write your headline to reach the reader by telling them WHY they will want to read what you have written.

Give them a compelling reason to read your article...blog post...whatever it is you have written. And the compelling reason is held in your headline.

EXAMPLE: 

 THIS NEXT STRANGE TRUTH 

 WILL SAVE YOU TIME & MONEY 

You have a lot of competition for any reader's attention...and the headline is YOUR first and only chance to grab that reader's interest. 

After the headline comes the content that you have written...and your article better be useful, funny, interesting, serious...and whatever else you can think of that is going to get ME, the reader, to come back for more.

Here is a quick tip:

TELL THE TRUTH IN YOUR HEADLINE!

Your headline better tell the truth...and the content you write...better tell the truth. 

When you write your articles, AVOID THE TEMPTATION TO LIE...or to spread the truth too thin...or to just NOT mention that little detail...that little "thing" that might stop somebody from doing whatever it is you want them to do.

TIP NUMBER THREE:
You may suck at writing...so try talking...and record what you say...and then play it back, and write down what you said....
 
Avoid crap content...focus on your own original, quality content.

Yes, you may end up writing stuff already covered by someone else, somewhere else...
...BUT you are going to be doing it your own unique way.
And maybe, just maybe...you are going to put a slightly original slant on the same old stuff.

You're going to be writing what is true for you...and making posts...and trying to figure out how to get people to your blog. This is commonly called DRIVING TRAFFIC to your destination of choice...namely YOUR blog.

And IF your ultimate goal is to make a decent living from your blog, and to continue to make a decent living from your blog...people who come to your blog are going to be connecting to stuff that they BUY...through your blog.

This might be an ebook you have written that you sell through your blog...or an affiliate type product and or service that you promote through your blog...or Google Adsense...and or one of many types of deals that you are going to learn about as you read this post...this one, right here, that you are reading right now. 

One little word of caution...there are some deals out there that seem to promise you can make a lot of money using their blogging platform...the most notorious is Empower Network.... 

My best advice is be very careful to hesitate when joining anything that will own your blog, and own your material, even after you have left their service. And also take heed to this next warning: Yes, you can make a lot of money out of something like Empower Network...BUT...please, make sure you do your due diligence BEFORE you part with any of your money...read all the terms and conditions...check out the REAL scam reports, and complaints....
